Marshal Dedication


The John F. McElhenny Camp of the SCV along with the forming Henry Carter Stuart Chapter of the UDC will dedicate two military headstones for Richard Marshall and Matthew C. Marshall. This dedication service will be held on Sunday, May 17 at 2:00 at the Marshall Cemetery at Belfast.

Directions to the cemetery:
From Honaker, Lebanon and Abingdon
Traveling North on HWY 19

Beginning at Rosedale heading north toward Claypool Hill, go 4.6 miles on Rt. 19. Turn right onto Rt. 642 (just across the road from closed HWY 19 Market). Go 1.2 miles to an intersection. Turn right onto River Mountain Road for less than .1 mile. At second driveway on left go across the cattle guard and continue on this drive for .3 mile passing through a farm gate. This is a graveled drive. The fenced cemetery is on the left in a cattle field. The road is easily accessable to 2 wheel drive vehicles and parking will not be a problem

From Richlands, Tazewell and Bluefield
Traveling South on HWY 19

From Rt. 19 turn left onto Rt. 642 then follow the same directions above.

Roads will be marked, look for the signs with Confederate flags. If you want to follow another driver, be at Rosedale post office at 1:00.
