Civil War Bullet

This bullet was found in a cultivated field by C. J. Boyd, on the C.T. Boyd farm located at Gardner Virginia . The proximity of the find (less than 150 yards ) to the suspected location of the Honaker campsite lends support to the site's authenticity. The bullet was researched by my younger brother and found to be rather rare with only one other like it being found in the Valley of Virginia. It is documented that several soldiers from Russell County were discharged from The Valley of Virginia at the end of the war. It is plausible that this particular type of ammunition was transported to the Valley by one of our local veterans.
